Life with Link

November 13th, 2005 · by sarra · No Comments

Link had his first vegetables this weekend. I went to the farmers’ market and got some organic sweet potatoes, acorn squash and carrots and pureed them. I tasted all of them and found them to be quite tasty. One of the arguments for making your own baby food is that it tastes like real food, and will make the transition to table food easier. We started with the sweet potatoes. At first he wasn’t sure what to make of them, but after a few bites I couldn’t shovel them in fast enough! We’ll do squash in a few days, then carrots after that.

Link has started to pay more attention to the kitties. He is very interested in them. Dwight likes to sit outside of Link’s room when I’m in there with Link. Link gets all distracted from his bottle and has to look at the kitty. I smell trouble once Link’s mobile.

Link sits up pretty well now. If he wants to. Link is still very strong willed and though he can roll over and sit up, he won’t do it if he doesn’t feel like it. He rarely rolls over anymore. I’m not in a huge hurry for him to be crawling anyway.

Granny got Link a Jets outfit, and he’s worn it twice now. Both times he has pooped on it before the game even started. Alex feels that this is a portent for the season. I just think Link is more of a Falcons fan.

Link has been chewing on his hands and pretty much everything else. I haven’t felt any bumps on his gums, but we think he may be just starting to teethe.

Link also really likes mommy’s hair. He loves to pull on it (OUCH!), and when mommy shakes her head and her hair flips around, well that is the funniest thing EVER. Mommy is a little dizzy from all that hair flipping.

Link is very good at peek-a-boo. He’s even advanced to the point that he will uncover his own face when we ask where he is. It never fails to get a smile or a laugh.
