Hoof and Mouth Disease

Poor Link has Coxsackievirus. The Ped says it should go away on its own in 24-48 hours.

It seems to be a pretty mild case, which is good. He has a few sores in and around his mouth and a mild fever. He’s been clingy and whiny for the last couple of days, and I think this may have been the culprit. All we can do is dose him with Tylenol and Motrin and wait it out. Poor little guy.

    Has he been playing with any cattle?? Yuck. Poor little boy!

    Hand, foot and mouth is really not related to Hoof and Mouth (despite the similar name). I just think it’s funny to say.

    Good thing he’s not a sheep or we’d have to put him down!
