Happy Memorial Day

May 28th, 2007 · by sarra · No Comments

I’d like to get Link a tricycle, but he isn’t really into ride on toys. He prefers to push them. We were trying out a tricycle in the store yesterday, and he did sit on it and try to pedal a little bit, but then he decided that pushing it is more fun. I think it’s because the pedaling is difficult, and (much like his parents) he doesn’t like to do things that don’t come easy for him.

Toys R Us was having a big 50% off Memorial day sale, so we got Link one of those motorized vehicles. Link played with the ones the neighbors have, and seemed to like it. The price was right, so I figured it’d be a nice treat. Link had a good time playing with it, but doesn’t really get the whole steering part yet. The control isn’t with a pedal, but with a button on the handle bar.

This is Link's new toy. This is Link's new toy. Link's new ATV

While Alex was putting the stickers on the ATV, Link played with the neighbor’s tricycle a little bit. He rode for a few minutes, but ended up pushing it. When we gave him his new toy (I got it during his nap, and we hadn’t shown it to him), he rode on it for a while. Then he decided he wanted to push it, too. I told him that it wasn’t for pushing, so we ended up playing with his bubble mower.

In the afternoon, we went to Alex’s friend’s house for a get together. Link had a super time playing with the other kids there. There were two brothers, age 5 and 3. They wrestled with their dad and Link thought that was the funniest thing ever. They were very nice and shared their cars with Link, and played legos with him.
